The Raleigh-Durham International Airport is located to the northwest of downtown Raleigh. The Triangle Transit Authority provides regional transportation and Raleigh has its own municipal public transportation system, Capital Area Transit. Amtrak provides rail transportation with facilities in Raleigh. I-40 is the major Interstate serving the city.
